Who we are? Read our Story
From that tiny seed sprung the existing model of education that drives Hamari Kaksha’s efforts to make “Education for All” a reality. Currently, three branches (or centers) serve as the base for improving the educational performance of more than 400 young children from impoverished and underprivileged backgrounds. This is done over three hours every evening. The staff and volunteers of Hamari Kaksha serve as “Second Parents” to these young people, giving them a safe space to settle and thrive. Hamari Kaksha also serves their parents by providing literacy classes to around 50 illiterate mothers every year. This has helped change longstanding attitudes in these areas regarding the benefits of education. We believe that Hamari Kaksha’s work will bear fruit in the years to come, when these young children grow up to be responsible citizens. We already see that in action: the current 11 teaching assistants are alumni of the organization’s initial efforts, and they have returned to help their younger friends experience the same goal - an education taught with care.
Our Mission
Hamari Kaksha aims to empower women and children in poverty through access to education. We believe that we are helping create future generations of smarter, happier, and more productive citizens of the nation.
Vision
We know that everyone deserves a chance – so we make it possible for children in poverty to surpass their circumstances. We ignite minds by rethinking what education looks like and developing unique and engaging methods of teaching. And we want to share them with the world, so no child is left behind.
